![]() There have been times when I tried to do something without helping people understand the thinking, motivation and rationale behind it. Talk about a time when you tried to execute change as a leader and things didn’t go according to plan? How did you pivot and what did you learn? In some instances, our greatest strength is our greatest weakness, and I would say that’s true for me. For better or for worse, I sometimes make change when inaction is the better route. Yes, I do see myself as a Changemaker, to a fault. I’ve become more introspective about myself and the company, and I’ve learned to take a longer view - all those things that come with age and experience.ĭo you see yourself as a Changemaker, and are you always excited to drive change despite the fact that it can be scary sometimes? How have you changed as a leader since then? We were the first one to bring opportunity fund capital and international capital to the sector, and we were one of the first RIDEA deals. And we’ve become a pioneer in capital over time. We’re continuing to be a strong proponent of culture.Ĭare, in general, is something on which we’ve worked hard to differentiate ourselves from others. We’re the only company to accomplish that in their large company category, and I’m so proud of that. I didn't experience that at the other community I toured. During our tour, residents came up to say hi and asked if we were moving in and letting us know that they loved it. I knew immediately that I was in the right place. It was the friendliness of the people and the warmth. I came back a second time and brought my aunt with me she agreed with me. We had other places lined up, but after I visited Benchmark Senior Living, I cancelled those tours. The best thing I ever did was fill out that form online and I got the help I needed. You provide an invaluable service for people who don't know what to do where to turn. I am so grateful that you guys recommend this place. I am also grateful to A Place for Mom because I would have never found this place on my own. I would say, if you have the money, which is really the most important thing to be able to go there, then my suggestion would be to go there. They have responded to everything and any of my concerns. It is expensive, but I believe we are getting our moneys worth. My aunt is satisfied with everything, it's a God-send for me. I'm very happy with a Benchmark Senior Living at Ridgefield Crossings, we are very pleased. Thank God I found a wonderful place for my aunt! It is well worth the time to tour Benchmark and see the many things they have to offer. They are kind to family members and I feel included in my husband’s overall care as well. They take good care of my husband - and me. The weekly music performances are fun for the residents and family members. There are several programs for the residents to enjoy. Once my husband was moved into Benchmark, everyone on staff sat down with me and explained their function. Finding another “home” was overwhelming, yet all the time and patience in the world was afforded me with my many questions. My initial phone calls were answered quickly, after working hours, during the evening. I wanted an environment where he felt safe, would be given top care, and wouldn’t be “just another resident.” I was fortunate finding Benchmark early in my searching. My husband’s illness required more care than I was able to provide for him at home.
